摘要
The use of ozone as a green bleaching technology for chemical pulps can extensively decompose the cellulose composition, especially when working with low pulp consistency. In this work, active hydroxylamine intermediate (AHI) was applied as an alternative additive in the ozone bleaching process. Considerable promotion of ozone selectivity and reactivity for low-consistency flax pulp was realized. With the AHI, the pulp brightness, viscosity and Kappa selectivity showed increases of 3.8%, 16% and 38.9%, respectively. In the meantime, the efficiency for ozone utilization was enhanced by 100%. AHI contributed to the inhibition of ozone self-decomposition and oxidative degradation of carbohydrates induced by free radicals. Furthermore, the mass transfer rate and diffusion of ozone were also improved in the aqueous phase.
