Porous Eucommia ulmoides Gum Monoliths Prepared via Modified Pickering High Internal Phase Emulsion Method
摘要
Development of materials based on Eucommiaulmoides gum (EUG) has been receiving increasing interestbecause of itsunique properties and abundant natural sources. In this study, EUGmonolithic materials with tunable and interconnected pore structureswere prepared via modified Pickering high internal phase emulsion. The effects of dispersed phase volume fractions, cross-linkers, andstabilizers on structures and properties of EUG monoliths were systematicallyinvestigated. The usage of a surfactant (span 80) was suppressed bythe introduction of particles including graphene, cellulose nanocrystals(CNCs), and carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Moreover, the pyrolyzed samplederived from the CNT-stabilized EUG monolith exhibited excellent electromagneticshield performance. This study demonstrates a method to prepare porousmonolithic EUG materials, which may have potential applications forthermal insulation and electromagnetic shielding materials.
