摘要
A new species of family Elcanidae (Orthoptera: Elcanoidea), Probaisselcana oculata sp. nov., is described from mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber with well-preserved body and wing venation. It characterizes prominent compound eyes, metatibia with three pairs of broad leaf-like dorsal spurs and a proximal unpaired small leaf-like dorsal spur, metabasitarsus without a row of stiff, setae-like spines ventrally, vein of CuPa and CuPaa in the same length, vein of MP with five simply curve branches reaching pos-terior margin, two dark spots on forewings. These body features and combination of wing-venation characteristics differ it from all other known species of Probaisselcana and species from Burmese amber. A key to genus Probaisselcana is provided.& COPY; 2023 Elsevier Ltd.
