The "on-off" switch for on-demand H2 evolution from hydrous hydrazine over Ni8Pt1/C nano-catalyst
摘要
Although remarkable progresses have been achieved in the design and exploration of new and efficient catalysts for elective H-2 generation, it is still a serious challenge to develop the efficient "on-off' switch for on-demand H-2 evolution. Herein, we report a facile synthesis of NiPt/C nano-catalysts by the simply alloying of commercial Pt/C with Ni, for synergistically promoting H-2 evolution upon the dehydrogenation of hydrous hydrazine. Interestingly, the obtained Ni8Pt1/C exhibits the highest catalytic performance toward H-2 evolution from the dehydrogenation of hydrous hydrazine, with an initial TOF of 849.7 h(-1) at 30 degrees C, 2640.5 h(-1) at 50 degrees C and 100% H-2 selectivity, whereas the only Pt/C is catalytically inactive. More importantly, the effect of H+ and OH- has also tested for the "on-off" switch of on-demand H-2 evolution from hydrous hydrazine for the first time.
