Error Rates for 4-Branch Equal-Gain Combining in Independent Rayleigh Fading: A Simple Explicit Solution

摘要

Error-rate formulas for equal-gain combining (EGC) in independent Rayleigh fading usually take the form of a single or double integral, and simple closed-form solutions are available only for simple EGC with two or three branches (EGC-2/EGC-3). In this paper, we derive a simple explicit solution to 4-branch EGC (EGC-4), aiming to complement few closed-form results in the literature.
