Revealing Mn4+ Local Symmetry in Narrowband Red-Emitting Phosphor Rb2NaGaF6:Mn4+ for Wide-Color-Gamut Backlighting

摘要

A red Mn4+-doped fluoride Rb2NaGaF6:Mn4+ (RNGFM) was synthesized by the co-precipitation method at mild conditions. Theoretical calculations reveal a vacancy of Rb+ forming with lower energy to balance the charge mismatch when one Mn4+ takes the place of one Ga3+ in RNGFM. The as-prepared RNGFM phosphor shows an internal quantum efficiency (IQE) of 70.3% excited by the blue light (similar to 460 nm). A wide color gamut of 108.6% vs NTSC was calculated and shown good potential for backlight LED displays.
