摘要
The bubble-like manganese silicate nanoparticles with a diameter of-10 nm have attracted much attention in diverse applications, however their formation mechanisms are under debate. Herein, we revisit the formation of bubble-like manganese silicate nanoparticles and demonstrate a solid-to-hollow conversion process. The solid MnxOy(CO3)mSiz as an intermediate is formed during hydrothermal reaction. The thermal decomposition of MnxOy(CO3)mSiz leads to the solid to hollow structure transformation. Finally, bubble-like manganese silicate nanoparticles are formed. These findings are expected to provide insights in designing other hollow metal silicate nanoparticles.
