Summary
(NH4)(3)FeF6 mesocrystalline octahedrons are formed by in situ dissolution and the reaction of anodic iron oxides, followed by a non-classical crystal growth process involving electrical polarization and subsequent alignment of primary (NH4)(3)FeF6 particles under an external electric field. The obtained (NH4)(3)FeF6 can be converted to nano-micro hierarchical alpha-Fe2O3 octahedrons by thermal annealing.
