Objective To set up a safe,easy and reliable method of viral RNA extraction from serum samples.Methods Three viral RNA extraction methods were compared by using real-time RT-PCR,using QIAamp Viral RNA Mini Kit,TRIzol(or TriPure) reagents adapted to QIAamp Viral RNA Mini Kit with or without chloroform extraction.Results The efficiency of the RNA extraction of TRIzol (or TriPure) adapted to QIAamp Viral RNA Mini Kit without using chloroform extraction was the same with or better than other methods.Conclusion Using TRIzol(or TriPure) Reagents without chloroform adapted to QIAamp Viral RNA Mini Kit was safe,easy and reliable.The new method can be used for the detection of Ebola Hemorrhagic fever related samples.
