Bipolar Arylsilane: Synthesis, Photoelectronic Properties, and High-Performance Deep Blue Organic Light-Emitting Diodes
摘要
Although great advances have been achieved in organic electroluminescence fields, highly efficient deep blue materials are still limited. In this work, two sp(3) linker connected bipolar arylsilanes, end-capped by diphenylamino/carbazolyl and phenanthroimidazole, were prepared and characterized. The bipolar arylsilanes exhibit high thermal/morphological stabilities, deep blue emission, and high luminescence efficiencies in a solid state. Information obtained for the crystal structures indicates a twisted conformation for the molecules. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) using DSiPPI as a dopant exhibit a deep blue luminescence with Commission Internationale de L'Eclairage (CIE) coordinates of (0.167, 0.078) and a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE(max)) of 7.07%, indicating the great potential for the use of this chromophore in deep blue OLED applications.
