Exploration of Gel-electrolyte Soft Package Sodium-ion Battery

摘要

Sodium-ion battery has been widely concerned in recent years because of its unique advantages in low-cost and work in low-temperature environment. The layered oxide cathode is first introduced due to its preparation process similar to that of the LiNixCoyM1-x-yO2(NCM) cathode material. However, due to the high residual alkali of sodium base layered oxide cathode and the lack of stability, it is easy to lead to the oxidation and decomposition of electrolyte in the long cycling test, which leads to gas production in the cell, limiting the application and development of soft package sodium-ion battery. In this work, the strategy of gel electrolyte was used to construct gel electrolyte soft package sodium-ion battery. The results show that the gel electrolyte has a significant role in inhibiting the gas production of the cell cycle, and can improve the safety performance of the cell, which provides a new idea for the development of soft packed sodium-ion battery.
