A new norditerpenoid and other components from Ajuga macrosperma and their bioactivity

A new norditerpenoid featuring a rare 14,15-dinor-neo-clerodane structure, ajugamacrin G (1), together with eight known compounds (2-9), were isolated from the aerial parts of Ajuga macrosperma. The structure of 1 was established primarily by a combination of NMR and MS methods, and its absolute configuration was determined by comparison of the experimental and calculated ECD spectra. Compounds 4-8 were obtained from A. macrosperma for the first time. Compound 9 was found to possess moderate NO production inhibitory activity in LPSstimulated RAW 264.7 cells, with an IC50 value of (9.70 & PLUSMN; 0.16) & mu;M. Furthermore, compounds 1-8 were tested for their protective effects against corticosterone-induced PC12 cells injury.
