摘要
Applied technology for comprehensive utilization of phosphate tailings was studied in this paper. The MgO-CaO refractory crucibles prepared with phosphate tailings clinker were used to smelt IF steel, and the effects of high phosphorus content refractories on the phosphorus content of steel were investigated. The effects of phosphate tailings clinker content and smelting time on the phosphorus content of IF steel were the focus of this study. It was found that the phosphorus in the refractories diffused into the steel at the beginning of smelting. The phosphorus content of steel was then decreased due to the dephosphorization role of the dicalcium silicate in the refractories. The value of phosphorus content in molten steel was the minimal when the smelting time was 60 min (0.011 wt%). The phosphorus content of steel was increased with increment of smelting time. It can be seen from the experimental results that the MgO-CaO refractories prepared with phosphate tailings clinker have the potential to meet the standard for phosphorus content requirement of steel in steelmaking. Phosphate tailings clinker is a promising raw material for preparing MgO-CaO refractories used for steel making.
