Summary

Enterprises find out the increasing effect of human capital on performance and even as the key success factor in the long-term profits and sustainable development of enterprises to provide the considerations for companies setting long- and short-term strategies. Aiming at supervisors and employees of hospitals in Guangdong Province, as the research objects, total 350 copies of questionnaire are distributed, and 324 valid copies are retrieved, with a retrieval rate of 93%. The research results reveal that: (i) taking sustainable development and corporate social responsibility (CSR) as important parts in the overall business strategy could naturally win consumers and customers' identification with the sustainable development of a hospital as well as reinforce brand word-of-mouth and reputation to match social desirability for sustainable development; (ii) the cultivation and distribution of talents' abilities to constantly absorb knowledge and practical experience inside and outside an enterprise and form distinct innovation could be transformed into the competitive advantage of a hospital's sustainable development in the industry and market, and (iii) it is important to enhance the value of human capital for the sustainable development of a hospital, which could accumulate human capital with such value and uniqueness by effective human resource management to present competitive advantage. According to the results to propose conclusions, it is expected to help a hospital build to last in the changeable competitive environment, effectively promote human capital, and achieve the future vision, business strategy, and sustainable development goals of the hospital.
