摘要
A novel electrospark deposition (ESD) particle planting process is proposed to improve the property of abrasive coatings on blade tips of single crystal superalloy, and the mechanism is discussed. Due to the instantaneous discharge energy generated at the contact points of electrode/particle and particle/substrate, a composite layer and metallurgical bonding are formed respectively, with cellular crystals forming in the remelting zone of the substrate. Larger bonding area and pinning effect derived from infiltration and interdiffusion at the interface, resulting in dramatically increased protrusion of the particles, and the apparent holding force is higher than that of brazing and electrodeposition as well, but with a larger dispersion.
