摘要
Purpose Sacha inchi meal (SIM, Plukenetia volubilis L.) is a by-product of Sacha inchi oil production, which was mainly used as the aquatic animal feed ingredient. The purpose of this study was to investigate the lipid-lowering activity of SIM hydrolysates. Methods In this study, SIM protein was hydrolyzed with six proteases, and the lipid-lowering activity was evaluated. Results The results showed that the half inhibition concentration IC50 values of pepsin hydrolysate, papain hydrolysate (SPa), trypsin hydrolysate (STr), and bromelain hydrolysate on pancreatic lipase were 34.96, 25.40, 24.49, 22.90 mu g/mL, respectively. In addition, the hydrolysates SPa and STr can significantly reduce fat accumulation in HepG2 cells, at high concentration, the triglyceride content in the cells was only 0.07 +/- 0.01, and 0.23 +/- 0.02 mmol/g protein, respectively, which were even lower than that of positive drug Orlistat (0.89 +/- 0.01 mmol/g protein). Conclusion In a word, SIM protein hydrolysates had potent hypolipidemic activity, which is useful for valorization of Sacha inchi processing waste.
