摘要
Embedded dynamic covalent bonds can endow polymers with special interfacial properties and interdiffusion behaviours. Such benefits from dynamic covalent bonds are particularly significant in polymer latices because their filming is based on joining surfaces and polymer interdiffusion. We prepared films from disulfide dynamically crosslinked, permanently crosslinked and noncrosslinked latices, and the polymer interdiffusion in the annealed films was monitored by a vibrationally resolved pyrene-based fluorescence probe. The fluorescence signals were converted into parameters of polymer interdiffusion, including fracture of mixing (fm), diffusion coefficient (D) and apparent activation energy (E). By comparing the diffusion parameters and the mechanical properties of the disulfide crosslinked latex with the permanent crosslinked and noncrosslinked latex, it is concluded that only 2 mol% of disulfide crosslinkers would make the latex significantly distinctive, especially at temperatures higher than 90 degrees C where disulfide exchange was activated.
