In situ DNA storage with whole blood cryogenic silicification

摘要

In a recent Nature Communications paper, Zhou et al. reported a novel DNA preservation strategy, cryogenic silicification of whole blood, to achieve the room temperature storage of genomic DNA for more than one thousand years. This cost-effective strategy paves the way for whole blood DNA preservation commercialization and advances the translation of DNA storage technology into personalized medicine.
