摘要

In this article, a novel method measuring anisotropic dielectric permittivity is proposed, based on the dual-mode system consisting of orthomode transducers (OMTs), square waveguide (SWG), rectangular waveguide (RWG), and so on. The proposed method is excited based on the traditional nicolson-ross-weir (NRW) method and can measure the anisotropic permittivity at one time without moving the material under test (MUT). The basic principle of the NRW method is reviewed and verified, the proposed calibration method is introduced, the key component OMT is designed, the measurement system is set up, and the results are calculated and verified in 9.8-12 GHz. The measured and compared results show that the proposed method is potentially to be an effective and accurate solution for the permittivity measurement of anisotropic material.
