Summary

In this work, the ultrasonic surface rolling (USR) with different rolling loads were introduced to 25CrNi2MoV steel. And the microstructure and fretting wear behaviors were evaluated. Results showed that USR treatment can significantly generate plastic deformation in material surface layer. The sample treated by 1000 N showed the lowest coefficient of friction and wear volume in the USR treated samples. The wear mechanism of untreated sample was adhesive wear, and the USR treated samples were abrasive wear.
