Appropriate fertilization could effectively increase apple yield and quality.However,unscientific fertilization might not only decrease the utilization efficiency and the fruit quality,but also lead to negative impact on soil quality,eutrophication,and greenhouse gas emissions.In response to the national plan of "Zero Growth in Use of Chemical Fertilizers by 2020" and to achieve the goal of high yield and high efficiency,we expound the principle of balanced fertilization and put forward the technology of balanced fertilization including fertilizer resource,fertilization rate,fertilization methods,and fertilization time.
