摘要

A good fluidity is an important condition for the casting and molding of zinc alloys, but there is no systematic study on the effect of Mg on the fluidity of zinc alloys. The effect of Mg on the fluidity of pure zinc or Zn-Mg alloy liquid was studied by spiral mobility stainless steel metal mold, DSC, and optical microscopy under the condi-tions of metal typecasting. The results show that the addition of Mg into pure zinc decreases the fluidity of pure zinc liquid, while the fluidity of Zn-Mg alloy liquid improves as the Mg content rises near the eutectic point, but is still lower than that of pure zinc. Zinc dendrites formed in zinc alloy liquid after the addition of Mg is the main reason for the deterioration of the fluidity.
