摘要

The single-phase Mn-doped Cu2O powder samples are prepared by hydrothermal method. All of the powder samples are spherical or approximate spherical morphology with the average size of 5 mu m. It is found that Mn ions have been incorporated into Cu2O lattice without changing the cubic structure via X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy measurements. Room temperature ferromagnetism is observed in both pure Cu2O and Mn-doped Cu2O samples. Moreover, the strength of ferromagnetism enhances after Mn ions doping. Room temperature ferromagnetism of pure Cu2O is ascribed to oxygen vacancy defects which are confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis. The enhancement of magnetization can be explained by bound magnetic polaron model and the increasement of the ferromagnetic coupling pairs (Mn-O-Cu-O-Mn). Furthermore, the Mn-doped Cu2O samples show mixing magnetic properties.
