摘要

In this study, the structure of glass network was adjusted through controlling the numbers of non-bridging ox-ygens (NBOs) and bridging oxygens (BOs) by adding lanthanide additive Lu2O3 into the Tm3+ doped barium gallo-germanate glass, hence tuning the-2 mu m emission properties of Tm3+. The increased flexibility of the glass network favors to the dispersity of Tm3+ ions in the germanate glass host, which was confirmed by the Raman spectra, O1 s photoelectron spectra, Judd-Ofelt (J-O) theoretical calculated results, and spectroscopic charac-terization. In addition, the Lu2O3 modified Tm3+ doped BGG glass has a good thermal stability to restrain the crystallization. These results demonstrate that the-2 mu m fluorescence emission in Tm3+ doped multicomponent germanate glass can be enhanced by tailoring the structure of glass network through Lu2O3 doping.
