摘要
In this paper, an improved equivalent method for one dimensional (1D) lattice IsoTruss column structures was developed to predict the axial compression stiffness and strength. Traditionally, the pyramidal elements were neglected in calculating the axial stiffness of the structure. In this research, the cylindrical shell is expanded into a plane lattice structure and the contribution of helical members is completely included. Theoretical predictions of the improved model and traditional model were compared with finite element modeling (FEM) calculations. The error of the improved method is within 1%. It is clear that the improved method is much more accurate.
