In the same direction: Two-dimensional mesostructured DNA-silica platelets were horizontally or vertically aligned on unpatterned substrate surfaces using "bottom-up" self-assembly. Through template-assisted self-assembly, vertically aligned DNA-silica platelets were selectively placed in the grooves and on the protuberances and with a parallel arrangement near the edges on patterned surfaces.
