摘要

Many researches have been carried out on the material properties, residual stress, and bearing capacity on the cold-formed thick-walled steel members. However, researches on the hysteretic behavior are quite few. An experimental study on the hysteretic behavior of axially loaded cold-formed thick-walled steel members was presented in this paper. It was shown that the width-to-thickness ratio and slenderness ratio had a significant influence on the failure mode and hysteretic behavior. Then finite element models in accordance with the test specimens were built and parametric analyses were conducted. The influence of width-to-thickness ratio and slenderness ratio on the hysteretic behavior and ductility was studied. On the basis of test and parametric analysis results, design recommendations for the limitation of width-to-thickness ratio and slenderness ratio were proposed.
