Evolution of Lissajous lines passing through an astigmatic lens

The theoretical expression of the Gaussian beams carried singular Lissajous lines passing through an astigmatic lens is derived, which is used to study evolution behavior of singular Lissajous lines in the presence of an astigmatic lens. The singular Lissajous lines are unstable and disappears after passing through the lens. Being different from the case of a singular Lissajous line in which appearance of no singularities or only one singularity takes place, more singularities may appear in the field. Comparisons with the interaction of two singular Lissajous line in free-space propagation and in the presence of an ideal lens are made.
