Preparation and research of intrinsic self-healing elastomers based on hydrogen and ionic bond
摘要
A novel intrinsic self-healing elastomer based on the combination of ionic and hydrogen bond had been prepared. Amide oligomers with certain elasticity was initially prepared as a result of hydrogen bonding, and thereafter zinc-carboxylate interactions were introduced in the oligomers to enhance the linking network by hard ionic regions and aggregates, resulting in growing rigidity and mechanical strength for the material. The structure of elastomer was characterized by FTIR and DSC. Self-healing mechanism was studied through the tensile experiment. The mechanical testing results showed that after healing for 4h without any external stimuli, the tensile modulus of this elastomer reached 13.5 MPa, which was the same as the original. Furthermore, after healing for 24h, the tensile strength and elongation at break of the material recovered at 82% and 96% respectively.
