摘要
In this study, 42CrMo ring components were produced by a novel compact cast-rolling compound forming (CRCF). The grain orientation, texture component and resultant mechanical properties were studied. The grain size distribution in the whole thickness of CRCF-produced rings is closely related to the grain orientation, which take {111} and {111} orientations as the most intense components. The shear textures including Copper {112} and Goss {110} components are presented in the CRCF-produced rings. The inhomogeneous distribution of grain size is caused by the rather inhomogeneous {111} and {111} orientations. The mechanical properties in the whole thickness of the CRCF-produced rings are higher compared to those in the current ring produced by the traditional process as a result of the refined and almost equiaxed grains. The inhomogeneous grain orientations in the center layer of the ring can result in poor plasticity and toughness.
