A Facile Electrosynthesis of Polysubstituted Oxazoles from Aromatic Ketones and Benzylamines under Mild Conditions

摘要

With KI as the supporting electrolyte and a mediator, DMSO as the solvent and KHCO3 as the base, a convenient and efficient electrochemical route was developed for the synthesis of polysubstituted oxazoles from aromatic ketones and benzylamines. The electrosynthesis was smoothly carried out in an undivided cell at room temperature, affording the target products in moderate to high yields. @@@ With the help of the in-situ electrogenerated iodine radicals and I+ cations, aromatic ketones with benzylamines could be smoothly converted to polysubstituted oxazoles. This electrosynthetic route has the advantages of easily available substrates, cheap electrode materials and mild reaction conditions. image
