摘要

Optimized tribological properties including low coefficient of friction (COF) and wear rate are significantly affected by main factors such as hardness, toughness and tribochemistry. In this research, a series of TiMoCN coatings with duty cycle from 20% to 80% were prepared by multi-arc-ion plating (MAIP). Mo and C addition prominently promote comprehensive tribological properties of TiN coatings by solid solution strengthening, forming lubricating MoOx phase and grain boundaries (GB) amorphous-C phase, leading to phenomenal solid-lubricating and anti-roughening effect, which are enhanced as duty cycle rises, despite slight hardness decline (from 33 to 30 GPa).
